Yinka Shonibare’s HMS Victory

Published on May 24th, 2010

I love Radio 4 – forget Eastenders….you need to check out the Archers! From comedy to culture, I’ve grown up listening to it, and now sometimes prefer to tune in to it instead of being auto-tuned out by commercial stations. Thanks to Radio 4 (and another blog that put me onto his work), I listened to an article about Yinka Shonibare – Turner Prize winner and now the first Black artist to have their work displayed in Trafalgar square.

Shonibare’s giant ‘ship in a bottle’ replica of Horation Nelson’s HMS Victory looks amazing – I cant wait to go and check it out for myself.

Read more about it here.
