Say hello to Vaughan Bailey – Mr England 2010.
Although he didn’t wish for world peace, the 23 year old did say that he’d like to use his role to change the lives of young people who were homeless. A matter close to his heart as he’d experienced it soon after a difficult divorce resulted in him sleeping at friend’s houses.
His skills as a basketball player saw him not only playing for England’s Junior team but embarking on a 3 year scholarship at Lindenwood University, St Louis after being approached by a US talent scout.
Returning to his home city of Birmingham due to injury, Vaughan was encouraged by friends to try his hand at modelling which then lead him to enter himself and win Mr Birmingham, and the rest as they say is history.
“I just want people to realise that no matter how low you think you have sunk, there is always light at the end of the tunnel…If my story can give just one person hope, then I think I have done my job as Mr England.”

Definitely not just a pretty face, I’m looking forward to seeing how he uses his role to try and implement change.
