I’ve said it before but Tumblr is such a great resource for finding dope visuals, and ‘Picture My Dad Took’ is no exception. If you didn’t know, Spec Boogie is also a graphic designer (which I’m sure must come in handy being an artist), so the creative streak definitely runs in the family as the blog is a collection of his father’s work as a photographer.
My father, Robert D. Cave Sr. (1949 – 1998) was a professional photographer who documented the culture, politics, communities and people of New York City, mostly Brooklyn, for over 30 years. Recently I unearthed his life’s work fron my aunt’s basement and began scanning, catalouging and retouching them in hopes of preserving both his legacy and the rich spirit and history of New York.
